We have partnered up with Tikondwe and a new Orphanage in the village of Domasi, which is in the Zomba district.
Our Malawi project initially came about from one of our Trustees hearing about their plight and feeling we could make a positive difference. Malawi ranks amoung the worlds least developed countries.
After months of communications and investigating we found the project that our charity felt could make a positive impact on the childrens lives.
Having visited the Orphanage Sports Connections Foundation immediately funded (through a generous donor) a diesel powered water pump, that will be able to meet their demands for clean water.
It was overwhelming just how sport is a valuable and joyous part of their lives. The enthusiasm shown not only by the players, but the children spectating was incredible. It was so evident to see just how sport is a way for all involved to forget about their suffering.
Therefore, our next step is to now set up a Sports Connections Foundation Sports Academy.
The aim of the Academy, will be to offer a regular feeding programme to the children that attend. Priority will be given to the local Orphans of which there are hundreds. The possible outcomes we hope to achieve from the Academy are numerous, and range from basic health education to possibly creating a Malawi sports star.
Whatever the outcome they achieve, they need our help.
With your support, YOU get to give a kid a chance in life.
