One single purpose – to enable amazing Sporting Wishes for children fighting life-threatening conditions.
We believe few things can be more important, or more deserving, than giving a seriously ill child the chance to have their Sporting Wish come true, with all the expectation and happiness that brings.
For families, a Sporting Wish can provide a lasting happy memory of their child enjoying a money-can't buy experience, surrounded by family and friends – rather than memories of days and weeks of painful treatments and hospitalisation. The memory of the wish may be of their child laughing along with their sporting hero, or being in awe of meeting members of teams they support. In years to come, the family can look back and remember that special time.
The very first wish was for Leah and John both aged 9, with their families, to be guests of the Football Association at Wembley for the England v Sweden friendly on 15th November 2011. Leah and John met the then England manager Fabio Capello, helped lead the teams out, whilst friends and family were able to watch it all live on television to share the experience.
Sporting Wishes is about realising the dreams of children with life-threatening conditions, enabling them to meet their sporting heroes, participate or watch events that will last long in the memory of all concerned.
